Valentine’s Day in the City

Some City restaurants are offering Valentine’s Day specials for Tuesday 14 February - a great excuse to go out for dinner:

• Mezzalira Ristorante – two or three courses from an a la carte menu, or a special 5 course menu including razor clam salad, pumpkin tortellini, crab risotto, beef with bone marrow and passionfruit tart – $80, or $110 with wine. Phone 6230 0025.

• The Haig Italian Restaurant – complimentary glass of bubbly with every main meal purchased. Phone 6243 8121.
• Waldorf on London – Complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival. Special menu of freshly shucked Clyde River oysters, house cured salmon salad, grilled beef tenderloin or prosciutto wrapped chicken breast, trio of chocolate – $59. Phone 6262 9623.

• Hellenic Club in the City – not a Valentine’s special, but a Tuesday special, for a more relaxed evening get a barramundi and glass of Goddess sauvignon blanc, or a steak and schooner of tap beer for $15.50. Phone 6162 6777.
• The National Carillon – there is a free carillon recital concert being held at Aspen Island – bring a picnic.
