And that’s a wrap for the 2017 World Curry Festival!
The third annual curry celebration held over the 8-9 July saw approximately 50,000 visitors to the city centre across the weekend, with the festival proving just as popular as 2016.
Curry festival attendees didn’t seem to be phased by the cold temperatures in Canberra’s CBD, with many turning to the vast array of delicious hot curries and spicy dishes for warmth. The CBD was bursting at its seams with street food, market stalls, cooking demonstrations with tastings and a plethora of entertainment.
A big thanks to some of Canberra’s bravest who kept the city entertained over the weekend as they battled it out for the city’s toughest tongue title at the Chilli Eating Competition. Find out how the competition played out here.
Competitors were served with some of the hottest chillies ever to be found, including the dreaded Trinidad Scorpion.
