Decorative lights in the median strip trees on Lonsdale Street, Braddon

What are we doing?
In the City Canberra is currently working on putting decorative lights in the trees in the central median strip on Lonsdale Street in Braddon. These will be uniquely amazing. The lights are custom-made and can be programmed to whatever colours are appropriate for various events

When will it be finished?
The lights will be turned on at the end of October, permitting all works go to plan.

Why is it so fast?
We are working at night and day so that we get the job done as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.

What can we expect?

At times part of Lonsdale Street between Cooyong and Elouera will be reduced to one lane. When this is end is finished the same will occur between Elouera and Girraween. During these times, traffic controllers will assist traffic around the working areas.

On Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5 October between the hours of 11pm and 6am (including into Thursday morning) there will be crews installing the lights from cherry pickers. For this to occur, again at times part of Lonsdale Street will be reduced to one lane. During these times, traffic controllers will assist traffic around the working areas.

Between Sunday 9 October and Wednesday 13 October Lonsdale Street will be closed between 11 PM and 6 AM (into Thursday morning). During this time access will be restricted to local residential and business traffic only. This will occur again Sunday to Wednesday nights the following week, 16 October until 19 October. The Traffic Management Plans for this stage of the works will be uploaded to the website by COB Thursday 6th October. Watch this space!
