New buses to run from Canberra Airport to the City

As of 1 January 2018, the management of the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy transferred from In The City Canberra to the City Renewal Authority. Views expressed in these articles may not reflect the views of the Authority.

For most travelers, a CBD is first on the to do list. CBDs tell a lot about the people who live in that particular place. We are delighted about the government’s investment in these new bus routes, making it easier for guests to access the heart of Canberra.

From Monday 20 March 2017, Canberrans and visitors can take public transport from the CBD to the Canberra Airport via Transport Canberra’s bus Route 11, seven days a week.

The current bus Route 11 will now service the Canberra Airport Terminal before continuing to Brindabella Business Park and Fairbairn. Additonal services will be introduced (Route 11A) that will service the Canberra Airport (via Russell) and return.

Customers can now take public transport from the City to the Canberra Airport with services running approximately every half hour, and better during peak times (weekdays) and every hour (weekends).

To travel just use your MyWay card or pay a cash fare to the driver when boarding. A single adult trip when paying cash will cost $4.80 with cheaper fares for students and children. Significant savings can be made when travelling with MyWay.

Seniors and concession card holders (excluding students) eligible for free off-peak travel as part of Transport Canberra’s 12 month trial will also receive free travel on this service during off peak periods when using their MyWay card.
