This is the Fifth Street Level Activities Report produced by Canberra CBD Limited
It is disappointing to report that the vacancy at street level has again increased. In July 2014 it was 9.11% increasing to 15.9% in December 2014. A recent walk around has assessed the vacancy level to be 18.78%.
This figure is influenced by street level vacancies in new buildings still to be let on Northbourne Avenue and Mort Street in Braddon. Without these, the vacancy rate would be similar to December 2014. The reasons for vacancies are complex but it is assumed that empty desks in federal government leased buildings play a significant role.
